TTS 404 EDUCATORS SAFARI

This is an educational safari geared to create a partnership between western and local educators. It can also apply for as an exchange program for students in high school and colleges. This safari is an opportunity to exchange ideas, create new exchange programs and partnerships in education projects that will be of benefit to both professionals and most importantly to the African child. Managers of education, or students, will be able to learn the difficulties, differences and the diversity of education principles and practices with a view to enriching each other for improved productivity. Western educators will have first hand experience of what it means to be an educator and a student in an African educational setting.

DAY 1 Friday (Arrival Day)
AM - Arrival of the team at Jomo Kenyatta international airport from where they are transferred to a hotel for the night at blue post hotel. The hotel is between two waterfalls.

DAY 2 Saturday (Deal with Jet Lag & Local Tour)
AM - Late breakfast and relaxation before a light lunch at the hotel.

PM - A tour of the large local coffee and pineapple plantations on the way to the scenic fourteen falls park. The river with fourteen falls! Return to the hotel for dinner.

DAY 3 Sunday (Church Service & Visit Homes)
AM - Attend a local church service at Christian church international to experience African ways of worship and Christian ministry.

Visit local educators' homes to experience how African educators live and fare socially with the local society. Then return to the hotel for dinner.

DAY 4 Monday (Visit Schools in a Slum & Municipal Setting)
AM - Visit a local slum area school for interaction with students and educators at work. Learn the challenges and set-up of schools in slum areas.

PM - Visit a local municipal school in town to experience with educators, managers and students on this particular setup.

DAY 5 Tuesday (Visit Special School & Rural School Setting)
AM - Visit a special school or an orphanage school with a totally different setup to see and experience the challenges of education in a special environment.

PM - Visit a rural school in a rural country setting and totally different environment with new challenges and opportunities.

DAY 6 Wednesday (Visit local High School and a College/University)
AM - Visit a local high school for a chat with educators and managers. They learn the challenges of secondary education in Kenya.

PM - Visit a local university for a personal experience of the challenges facing higher education in Kenya.
DAY 7 Thursday (Workshop & Seminar)

This will be a Day for workshops with local education managers, union officials and government representatives with a view of establishing useful contacts, partnerships and contribution for improving the education in Africa.

PM - The group will brainstorm on their findings and discuss the necessary steps to take and a way forward program.

DAY 8 Friday (Go on a Safari to the Wild Africa)
AM - Start our Safari by road to Masai Mara game reserve; the land of King lion and the mighty rulers of the jungle (elephants, buffaloes, cheetahs, wildebeests etc) Pass by the scenic Rift Valley and the inviting variety landscape;

PM Arrive at Mara Sarova Lodge or Fig Tree Hotel at Masai Mara for an overnight stay and dinner after passing by a Masai school.

DAY 9 Saturday (Keep the Safari Spirit)
AM - Wake up early for a morning game drive or balloon ride (the latter at extra cost) as you hunt around for more game. This time, predators are coming back after a night out and the preys are out grazing. Then return to the lodge for a late breakfast and relaxation.

PM - Late PM, we go for another game drive. This time, the sun is not as scorching and there is a higher opportunity of experiencing and see numerous game. We return to the lodge in time for a Bonfire dinner and traditional dancers.

DAY 10 Sunday (End our Safari)
Take a last game drive before breakfast. Then pack our bags and our lunch and head out of the park to Nairobi via a Masai village where you learn the Maasai culture and how they have been able to coexist with wild animals for ages and have your picnic lunch before arrive at our hotel in Thika for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 11 Monday (Say 'Au Revoir' - Goodbye & Shopping)
AM - This is our last Day in Kenya for this safari. Pack our bags and head to Nairobi for a shopping tour of Nairobi. Visit the markets in the city and have a short tour of Nairobi.

PM- Go for lunch/ dinner at Carnivore Restaurant for sumptuous game meat and local foods. This is a powerful and not to miss experience of eating zebra, giraffe, crocodile and other fame meat in this classy restaurant.

Leave on time for the airport to catch flight for home. Obviously, we know that you have fallen in love with us as we have with you and look forward to seeing you back soon.

The cost of USD 1500 per person minimum 5 pax includes your accommodation, meals, transportation, driver charges and taxes. Part of your proceeds from your safari will be used to support any education project of your choice like school fees, building project etc. It will be a safari with a difference indeed.

Booking must be done at least 3 months in advance but the earlier the better. Special cases shall be considered. Tips and souvenirs costs are not included!
