104 THE MAASAI
MARA The Masai Mara is probably the most famous nature reserve in Kenya, not only because of its abundance of wildlife including the 'Big Five' but also because of the Maasai tribe, which live alongside the wildlife. When most people visit Kenya they ensure they get time to visit this astounding area. This safari gives you the opportunity to see many of the big animals as well as lots of small game. You will pass through the Great Rift Valley and see some unforgettable scenery. Day 1: Nairobi/Masai Mara - Leave Nairobi and travel through the Great Rift Valley where you will get magnificent views of the land. After you descend into the rift valley you will travel towards the Masai Mara as villages become fewer, there is often the chance to spot small game on the way to the park. Spend the night at Fig Tree Camp/Sarova Mara Camp or our beautiful Ebenezer Tented Camp on the banks of River Talek. Day 2: Masai Mara - Masai Mara has everything, lions, giraffes, buffalos, hippos, crocodiles, elephants, rhino, leopards, cheetahs and lots of other small game. Now it is time to search and see what you can spot. Day 3: Mara/Nairobi - After breakfast take the last ride through the park to see if you can spot more wildlife before you climb up the rift valley and return to Nairobi. The cost is from USD 475 per person for a minimum of four people, includes your full board accommodation, transportation, driver charges and taxes. Park entrance fees are also inclusive. Booking must be done at least 3 months in advance but the earlier the better. Special cases shall be considered. Tips and souvenirs costs are not included! |
